Blackburn problems

Saturday's are never the same when Spurs aren't giving us a usual roller coaster of emotions. I find myself attempting to take vague interest in other games, throwing money down the drain in the hope one club I couldn't give two s*its about beats another. It leaves me usually a few quid down adding to more misery; I'm a right cheerful chap.
So after a rather minority of a game takes place at lunch time in Manchester, the real game kicks off at 3pm in Blackburn. Of late, we've done rather well away at their place; we've won our last two meets away up there thanks to old lanky features who now ply's his trade in Stoke. I still see Blackburn as an unpredictable side. Of course, they find themselves neck's stretching above water but even this side could punish if we took our foot of the accelerator.

The Arse were given a shock & a half and gave the rest of us some comedy gold as they lost on a miserable day away there. Hell of a Super Sunday that, but I can't see a repeat against a stronger side in us. The only real issue would be Bassong partnering Kaboul at the back. The pair barely have game time together and Bassong really does get the heart beating furiously at times.

It's a superstition of mine, as strange as it sounds, to check team news prior to kick off so I'm unsure of any injury news. Although, assuming the same team is fit (with the absence of King) all eyes will be on whether Defoe or Rafa start. With Defoe looking sharp it would be right to make the most of this, exploit it while he's in good form. But, saying that, I can't and wouldn't like to see Rafa relegated to the bench.

3-5-2 anyone?

I joke, of course.

The return Sandro and Lennon will make selection one tough nut to crack.

How'd you line up tomorrow?

Regards.

"He is a good player who has done a great job"

'Arry has ruled out a move for Blackburn's giant of a centre half Christopher Samba. For the first time in ages we could probably play a whole team of centre backs and this is not an area we're struggling in. With only two spots to fill and with Ledley, Daws, Kaboul, Gallas, Khumalo, Bassong and with Woodgate returning to fitness, adding Samba to that list would give competition a new meaning.

"He is a good player who has done a great job," Redknapp said. "He has been a fantastic signing for Blackburn from Germany. But I am okay, I am strong at centre half. So he is not a player I would be looking to do anything with."

With the January sales just around the corner, our main aim should be looking to shift a few bench warmers from the wage bill and possibly look to bring in another forward. Although, the task of bringing in a striker that can settle and knock in enough goals to bring us fourth spot once again is a gruelling challenge but a bold move that we should look into doing.

3 points tomorrow will do me for Christmas.

Regards.

Tottenham 6-0 Blackburn

Sorry I must've mis-read the result because our display today warranted the score line above. A stylish and a display that last season's team would've been proud of, for much of the game we were stuck in the driving seat only dropping down to 4th gear for the final moments of the game.

The scoreline suggests a closely fought encounter but the game was over at half-time, Pavlyuchenko atleast making amends for missing the penalty and a chance that even I would've had a good shout at scoring.

It was positive seeing Bale bring his European form back into the Premier League as he knocked up 2 more goals and an assist that will get the whole world talking about again. Best player in the world? Not just yet, but the boy's on for a cracking season ahead.

Crouchy finally broke his duck, although taking advantage of some sloppy defending. But hey, they all count.

Arsenal next up. Any news on Jermaine?

Regards.

Score predictions for Blackburn

We know what to expect. After their shock win in Newcastle that even Joey's futile punch couldn't do anything to prevent, the Lancashire side will come to the Lane on cloud 9. They'll come at us, not let us play and hope to nick the first goal.

We didn't do much wrong against Steve Bruce's men, a slip up in defence and before we knew it we were wondering how we hadn't wrapped the game up. Asamoah Gyan must've been laughing at the final whistle.

Anyway, hopefully our strikers can actually do what they're paid to do and stick the ball in the net nice and early to ease the pressure slightly. But I can't see Blackburn laying down and watching the game go by, just as I can't see our strikers scoring nice and early. But eh, you never know.

I'll go Pav 1-0. Assuming he plays.

Score predictions please.

Regards.
