90th minute gutter-blow

Today saw what was more of an important day at the office in particular, with Villa playing City at Eastlands, a win at home to Bolton was a must and that we duly delivered.

It wasn't the tidiest football match I've ever witnessed but, as such, we dominated from the off and constantly look a threat without producing too many shots on goal. For 89 minutes, the only disappointment was that of City coming from behind to beat Villa by three goals to one. But still, three points looked set in stone.

What can only be put down to as bad luck was seeing Gomes pull up sharply in injury time indicating his groin muscle may have been pulled. An air of silence flooded the Lane as we watched on in dismay at seeing our Brazilian hero require treatment although play on for the remaining 2 minutes.

Another home win completed a terrific home record this season, although, seeing Gomes pull up sharply left many of us feeling the anxiety with our trip to Eastlands just 4 days away.

Regards.
