Newcastle look to disrupt our Premiership start

It looks as though Harry has acknowledged that a defender is number one priority and have finally stuck in a bid for one. Maybe old 'Arry has decided that mimicking the management style of Ossie Ardiles isn't really the way forward in the Premiership today.

Anyway, Sky Sports have today said that we have been rebuffed by Newcastle for their 23 year old centre back, Sebastien Bassong. Reports say that we offered them the equivalent of purchasing a 10% stake in Newcastle, 10 million pounds.

So Harry is looking to draft in a Centre back before our home start against Liverpool in under 2 weeks, anything to do with a 2-0 loss to South China perhaps? Newcastle should be grateful, £10m for a Championship centre back is a fair amount of money. I'm sure old Mike Ashley had a problem turning that bid down.

Regards.

  1. '£10m for a championship centre back is a fair amount', you arse!!!
Unlike your load of Spurts, Bassong is worth twice that so unless you're willing to stump up the cash, like other clubs have to for your shite players, why don't you just go buy some mackem crap instead!!

  2. "Maybe old 'Arry has decided that mimicking the management style of Ossie Ardiles isn't really the way forward in the Premiership today."

    Yeah maybe.
    What an idiot you are.
I swear this blog is written by gooners.

  3. yes we may be in the championship but Bassong is not a championship player! 'arry will just have to findsome more money from somewhere!?

  4. This defender is world class mate, there are many clubs after him so why should we buckle under the pressure. Spurs want every player going these days and are always on the prowl up here in Newcastle, whats the matter can you lot not get a decent player in and around London. DISRUPT your EPL start hahaha what a load a bollox only your own players can do that typical Spurs idiocracy.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Good to see Harry looking to invest in a centre back, could do with one more than a striker really.

    ReplyDelete
  6. "Bassong is worth twice that" right there in on small phrase whats wrong with newcastle. deluded with no sense of value just because thats what you would pay for a half decent centre back doesnt mean thats what he is worth. £10m is a great offer. your piss poor team needs investment and lightening of your wage bill. take the money and give it to someone who might know how to run a football club

    ReplyDelete
  7. Old' Arry ain't gonna get him on the cheap and it isn't Mike Ashley who rejected the bid either.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Spurs were very close to relegation themselves for most of last season...I HOPE THEY ARE RELEGATED THIS SEASON...MOST OF NUFC PLAYERS ARE EPL CLASS>>>OFFER 15-20 MILLION AND HE WILL PROBABLY BE YOURS!!

    fn spurs shiite

  9. As soon as Bassong sees we're interested he'll end up handing in a transfer request. Who'd wana stay at that club anyway? Their strongest team lost 6-1 to Leyton Orient haha

    ReplyDelete
  10. For the newcastle fans taking the piss out of spurs, one word; Championship.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm sure Levy can afford a lot more for what would be your top player, but id prefer it if you kept your grubby mits off

    ReplyDelete
  12. Doesnt matter what happens it will be same old cockney shite shit start sack the manager jol, ramos and soon harry.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Your club is a mess, you won't be returning to the prem any time soon. We had our worst start in quite a few decades and still only finished 8th. So, your cheap shots don't hurt, you should take that 10mil, your fragile club needs every penny it can get it's hands on right now.

Anyone remember leeds, foolish geordies don't fall too far.

  14. "As soon as Bassong sees we're interested he'll end up handing in a transfer request. Who'd wana stay at that club anyway? Their strongest team lost 6-1 to Leyton Orient haha"

That could be true, the guy wants to play in the EPL. But the same could be said about u lot next year if he goes to u guys and have a good season which lead to one of the big clubs bidding for him... Much like you always lose your better players to clubs such as L'pool, Manure, Arsenal, Villa and what have we not.

    ReplyDelete
  15. We're perfectly entitled to reject a bid we don't see as meeting the value we set upon Bassong. If Spurs wish to sign him, increase your bid. If not, then don't whinge because we don't accept!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Newcastle are in a real state, if they dont come back this season they will be another Leeds.
You will have to sell him,and he wants out.You havnt got any other players of any value. Take the money and buy a few championship players.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Villa....are you sure?! the others maybe, but villa..hah

    ReplyDelete
  18. Talk about us having no concept of value. Good business on Defoe and Keane in particular, oh and Bentley and Modric. Just keep throwing money at the problem Spuds.....

    ReplyDelete
  19. look ive got an idea you spurs chip in give ma a hundred million and i'll buy The Toon and let you have Bassong thats his true value surely

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wasnt it Villa who were after some of your better players?... Anyway, i left out chelsea and city, so who cares.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bassong is a class act and in all honesty worth £15M. We want him to stay and we should'nt be told we have to sell him for less than we value him just cos we're in the Chmpionship. He is not one of the over paid prima donas so getting shot of him will not significantly reduce our wage bill. He is only 23, better than King and dawson and more reliable injury-wise than all of your centre backs.

We are not trying to disrupt your premier league start. Maybe its your club's fault to have such a bunch of crocks for centre backs. If you really want him you'll just have to dig deeper or look elsewhere.

If you wont let Darren Bent go for less than £15M, it hippocritical to suggest we are over valuing our players. If he's worth that then bassong is easilly worth £15M also.

    ReplyDelete
  22. i really hope we don't get him. jesus christ,he is one piss poor defender. i hope he stays in that crap team, from that scummy part of this country. what an embarrasment getting relegated. well done ashley.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Im suprised ashley rejected it he is supposedly a fat cockney bastard spurs fan anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  24. World class defenders don't get relegated!

    ReplyDelete
  25. "Talk about us having no concept of value. Good business on Defoe and Keane in particular, oh and Bentley and Modric. Just keep throwing money at the problem Spuds....."

In one season Modric has easliy doubled his value. that's mroe than can be said for any of your players, what happened to Emre, Luque, Owen, you've managed to turn Coloccini from a top player into an unwated one and is now utterly shite

    ReplyDelete
  26. He is better than dawson and as for scummy part of the country how many stabbings were in north london today I know they were probably all koons but still.

    ReplyDelete
  27. SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will everyone just calm down. Christ, can we not discuss whether he's worth 10 million or not without it being a huge slanging match.
As a Spurs fan, I thought it was quite a fair bid but must admit to being not an expret on him having not seen him that much. Honestly - how much is he worth?

And to those of you saying 20 million... really? Are you serious?

    ReplyDelete
  28. 13.59 - you racist twat!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Coloccini was never a good player you thick cockney twat.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 12 mil hes worth and im a nufc fan

    ReplyDelete
  31. just heard on the grapevine R Madrid has just offered 12 million looks like we have an auction on our hands maybe thats out of spurs price range

    ReplyDelete
  32. Trying to disrupt your Premier League start? What are you on about? Newcastle couldn't give a fuck about Spurs. We're just not willing to let probably our best player go on the cheap

    ReplyDelete
  33. youre probably a koon yourself

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would say that 20 million would be high, but not unfair at all... He is fast, strong in the air, reads the game and he can play the ball out... the guy is class.

    ReplyDelete
  35. To the Spurs fan who said we need to lighten the wage bill by offloading Bassong. Bassong is on 5k a week.
He is not one of the players we need to sell. We could let him rot in the reserves and it's not a huge financial loss.

    ReplyDelete
  36. real wont be interested

    ReplyDelete
  37. world class defender aye, that good hes shit team got relegated hahahaha. please keep him,and make that BORING slag shearer boss as he will take you down again ,where you fucked up talking mongrels belong.div 1.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yet another forum full of people who know nothing about football.

"Most of NUFC players are Premier League / world class quality" for something close to that...absolute bollox. You're on a slippery slope and will end up like Leeds if you dont shut your arrogant gobs and swallow humble pie.

10 million is an outrageous amount for someone like Bassong - you should have taken it and crawled back under the Championship rock you came from.

    ReplyDelete
  39. As a Newcastle fan I think £10m is a very good offer and don't know why we haven't accepted it. Bassong is good but he's been relegated twice in two seasons. He stood out last season because everyone else was so pitiful.

    ReplyDelete
  40. yourea rrogant cockney twats and assume we will do a leeds so you dicatate football now fuckin most of your supportes are wogs or pakis anyway and you all say things with a chewsea arsrenalw you must be brave making threats over a computer you little cockney rats.

    ReplyDelete
  41. He is like a young William Gallas. Very good player. Have to say Arry loves over valuing his players when he is selling but is regularly disgusted when his bids r rejected. TBF 10M is about right but very few players r going for about the right price these days.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Not threats are being made! You just can't handle hearing the truth.

Shit only goes one way my young friend....and that's down!

    ReplyDelete
  43. 10 mil is a really good offer for a player who was brought for last then a half a mil a season ago i cant see him coming to the lane for much more he had decent season for a crap team think he might struggle abit but with leds and woody there to help he might turn out to be a good signing

and for the twat who said something about toon being full of prem players who you actually talking about ???? if you mean duff nolan harper you are a sad bastard toon are gonna get relegated again and be the new leeds its a shame because you where a decent side once and you sold your best players then to us sir les and ginola

    ReplyDelete
  44. On the Newcastle still got relegated with him front some very good young players have gone down in the past. Defoe went down with West Ham & there were a few others in that team (Lampard & Rio?)

    ReplyDelete
  45. £10m is a fair ammount of money for Bassong, especially after his 1st competitive season saw his side relegated. Newcastle will hold out for as much money as possible and good luck to them because i certainly would.

As for Collocini being better than Dawson i think thats debatable, the guy was one of the main reasons the Toon dropped last year, That added with the fact Ashley is an idiot.
Where do you get the idea we are always sniffing around Toon players from? the last one we got was Jenas and he is dog sh1t. You got relegated, teams will want your better players and they will want to leave. It happens.

Where do you get this whole Cockney Mafia rubbish from too??? Ashley is a F'ing toon fan. Its up to your board to sort the club out and they screwed up. Did you honestly think Joe Kinnear and Dennis wise would get you CL football, dont make me laugh!

    ReplyDelete

  48. whats the title off this page

" NEWCASTLE LOOK TO DISRUPT OUR START "

sounds like YOU spurs lot just want a bargain, if not getting BASSONG is going to disrupt your start of the season

BASSONG must mean be WORTH AT LEAST 15 MILLION. unless the rest of your team is WORTH NOTHING

STUMP UP OR SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP

    ReplyDelete
  49. lets be honest, £10mil is FAR TOO MUCH for a championship player. two seasons on the trot this defender has been relegated. Spurs continue their ridiculous spending of the last couple of seasons

    ReplyDelete
  50. How can he be a championship player when he has never played Chamionship football u plonker! This lad has only ever played aginst Premiership forwards u thick twat

    ReplyDelete
  51. Personally, I think Spurs should pay the £100M and asset strip the fuckers. Keep the players we want, sack the rest, sell the ground and wipe the club from the face of the earth. Leave them in the history books with Leeds City and Blackburn Olympic.

    ReplyDelete
  52. WHATS GOING ON HERE THEN?!?! lol Bassong not in Squad to play Dundee Utd today!!! make of it what you will!!! COYS!

  54. It's all so quiet! SSShhhhh SSShhhh SSShhhh!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Fabian Delph is worth £15mil and hes a league one player! Its quite right that a championship player is also worth that. Obviously Arry Headrot values him if he went in with 10mil on his first offer,... He`ll be back with a few more to 12/ 14/ 16 and by that stage the richest team in the world will have him, and spurs with buy some mediocre player with dodgy knees for 3x what hes worth (the usual) with 90% of the money ending up in arrys pocket like he did at postmouth. And as for this newcastle being a championship team, SO WHAT, They`ll be back. They have came closer to you winning the premiership than you paki immigrants (more than once too) and have been in the champions league on a few ocassions. Spurs came close to qualifying once and bottled it. Some of the best games ive ever watched was againt the toon and the epl will not be the same until they are back imho

What u gonna say now? i class your fruity team in their skin tight tops the same as hull and stoke. newcastle is a FAR BIGGER team with more support and a bigger fan base... of course they will be back..... and doing better than yous. sometimes u have to take a step back to take 2 forward. and as for being the next leeds,... remember city??? where are they now???

  62. I am a devoted NUFC supporter and have to say 10M seems fair, but also understand the club's prerogative to hold out if Spurs as so interested. Basic business sense. I also confess that we richly deserve our Championship League status and I do fear we are heading for the same slippery slide as Leeds. To be fair, Spurs fought magnificently last season to salvage their season whereas we showed no ticker whatsoever. IMO, Spurs are a team that we should aspire too in terms of their business guile, professionalism and beautiful flowing football that will surely stamp them as top 4 material this year.

    ReplyDelete
  63. so we deduce your not from manchester then!!! lol.

    ReplyDelete
  84. not really, tevez isn`t worth 25mil, owen will get more goals. Ronaldo was becoming a liability, spent more time on the ground crying (no doubting his talent tho.) He never played to his full potencial at utd..... he was always better when spurs had him LOL

    ReplyDelete
  85. That's a bit of a joke!!

How many games did Tevez or Ronaldo win for you over the last two seasons!?!?!

  95. I think it is a tribute to N17 that other supporters show an interest and thumbs up to Man U season ticket holder that cam einto the thread with decent constructive comments.

Ferguson has always made the hard decisions (Beckham among many others) but has always been right. However, with Ronaldo and Tevez on the move, I think it could be a tougher season for Man U. Berba will have to shoulder more responsibility and he is a bit of a sook.

Sorry N17...I know this is a Spurs site and I am Spurs through and through since a kid (born and bred in Australia living in thailand).
